22nd Annual York Halloween Parade Part 2

Pre-Parade Show

Marlin E. Fry, music chairman of the committee, also announced that the Knickerbockers will give a pre-parade performance in the northeast quadrant of Continental Square at 6:45 p.m.

Fry said: "The New Yorkers visited York last summer and were so impressed with our hospitality that they said then they'd be happy to return to the White Rose City for our Halloween celebration.

"The Knickerbockers feature a 15-minute concert which is outstanding. Since parade rules prohibit this event being staged during the line of march, we have made arrangements to have them entertain the crowds gathered in the square."

At the conclusion of their performance, the New Yorkers will be honored by Mayor Eli Eichelberger and his aides who will affix white roses to their uniforms. They will be escorted to the West End to join the line of march.

Police will convey the Knickerbocker group from Market Street and Richland Avenue to their playing station in the square and will return them to the line of march.
