Please publish this open letter to the people of York.

An editorial in the August 10th issue of the York Daily Record was concerned with our feelings about returning to York following our third place finish as the Eastern State Drum Corps competition at small Field sponsored by our friends, the White Roses.

We are indeed happy to report that the New York Knickerbockers Drum & Bugle Corps has received and has accepted an invitation from Mr. Marlin Frye and his committee to return to York and participate in the famous Halloween parade staged annually in your fair city

We are deeply touched by your city's concern for our young people and acknowledge the receipt of almost 100 letters from various people in York who felt we were not given a fair judgment at the show... but above all we felt an appearance at York would prove to all the people that we indeed respect and even admire your city and its generous and enthusiastic people.

We look forward to seeing all of our friends at your Halloween parade soon..
