Editorial Thank you, York , August 10,1971

A brief letter to the editor of the York Daily Record received yesterday from one of the groups which competed in the Eastern State Junior Drum and Bugle Corps competition in York Saturday made us realize that despite its ups and downs our city has many things going for it.

The letter was sent by Harvey Berish, manager of the Knickerbocker Drum and Bugle Corps would like to thank the people of York for the outstanding reception given our unite during our visit to your fair city for the White Roses Drum and Bugle Corps pageant. " Being New York City's ambassadors of goodwill, we have traveled to many cities in the United States and Canada,.... but rarely have we felt as welcome as we did in York.

"Even though many did not agree with the results, we will remember your standing ovation and the crowds of people who came to the parking lot (a small field) to meet and have a few moments of conversation with our young people. It was one of the highlights of our summer!

"Thanks also to the Salvation Army for the use of their recreation building in housing our young people. We look forward to our return to York next year.

Yours in Youth,
Harvey Berish
