EDITORIALS- THE DAILY PRESS, August 3, 1971

Newport News, Virginia, Tuesday Morning, August 3, 1971

In what can only be described as an outstanding performance and one that received a standing ovation and continuous applause from the audience, the Knickerbockers of New York presented a sound that was worthy of Broadway.

Exhibiting controlled precision in their marching while playing music that had the audience clapping along, the Knickerbockers definitely presented a performance with "Swing".

National champions, the Blue Rock Drum and Bugle Corps of Wilmington , Del., demonstrated a unique playing technique around variations of " Johnny Comes Marching Home".
